PCT Day 23

The morning starts with an instantaneous climb again. Packed up before everyone and set off. In a mile I gain just about 1000ft. This mountain is kicking my ass. Every day has been a struggle up this thing. It's really making know just how outa shape I am. Pouring sweat, and with no real flat... Continue Reading →

PCT Day 22

Wish I took more photos of this day but the reality is that is was a very hard day and it was just extra effort to pull my camera out. Woke up at sunrise, laid on my pad for another hour, dealing with my thighs spazing and hurting. I watched the millipedes crawl through our... Continue Reading →

PCT Day 21

As the norm, I woke up early, packed my bag and headed out ahead of my tramly. After about a mile I'm greeted by the first actual river crossing so far. I crossed it and then took advantage of the situation and refilled my water while I waited for my crew to catch up Followed... Continue Reading →

PCT Day 20

We decided to skip about a 20 mile section of the trail that would have led us over Mt San Jacinto. At the time there were a lot of hikers turning around, some being rescued, others being put into very unsafe conditions. The snow was still a serious issue. None of us wanted to deal... PCT Days 18 and 19

We all headed back to my hometown to enjoy a couple days off trail to recover. Its was nice to have a roof, hot food and laundry. The fun quickly ended and we went back to the trail.

PCT Day 17

The day of hamburgers. Woke up wet, cold and not feeling great after pushing myself yesterday. Food has become a serious issue for myself and the crew. We are all learning hard lessons on not eating properly while on trail. Hard to explain, but most of us aren't hungry after walking all day and that... Continue Reading →

PCT Day 16

Sunrise, I rise. This morning I feel really good, must have been the several sodas and pizza. I have drank more soda these last 2 weeks than I have in more than 10 years. Soda is flippin fantastic on trail. Today's plan is to try to make it to another spot called "Mary's Place", 18... Continue Reading →

PCT Day 15

Woke with the sunrise, packed and started on the day. There was a pretty steady climb from the point of where my camp was. My tramly were about 3.4 miles ahead of me. The goal for the day is to make it to a middle of nowhere spot called "Mike's Place", 16 miles from where... Continue Reading →

PCT Day 14

I woke up early and packed up. Its was a sad morning as one of our tramly members had to leave to head back to his job for a few weeks. It was kinda hard to say goodbye, as we have walked 100 miles together, camped and done a lot as a group. He will... Continue Reading →
